It feels like ages since Farm Heroes released for mobile devices in January, but that hasn’t stopped developer King from celebrating! On April 9, King hosted their #BeAFarmHero event in New York City at the Flatiron Pedestrian Plaza. It was free, open to the public, and had tons of farm-themed activities. Perhaps best of all was the appearance of actress Vanessa Lachey in her floral dress.
Vanessa Lachey At Farm Heroes Event
Officially nicknamed the Farm Heroes Saga Urban Farm Experience, the event brought a taste of peaceful rural life to the big city. A pop-up greenhouse was set up to bring New Yorkers into a new world, where there plenty of food and fun. There was an organic marketplace and fruit juice samples for people to snack on, and Rebecca Cole hosted a Grow-Your-Own-Cropsie Workshop, where she taught urban farming for healthy eating in an urban center. There was even a relaxation station, where masseurs and manicurists gave Farm Heroes-themed massages and manicures. Not bad for a free event!
To make it even better, there were a couple special guest appearances. Vanessa Lachey posed for some photos, playing around with the toy cropsies.
She was later joined by Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and together they showed off their iPads. We can only guess what game they were playing on them.
Vanessa and Jamie-Lynn weren’t just there for the photo-shoot — they actually joined in on the activities! Jamie-Lynn got herself a nice Farm Heroes manicure, and Vanessa enjoyed one of the blended fruit smoothies from the greenhouse.
For all of those who missed out on the event, there are still plenty of ways to join in on the fun. To start, obviously, you should play Farm Heroes! The game is truly addictive, and most people who try it enjoy it even more than Candy Crush, the hugely popular game also by King. The gameplay is essentially the same, but in Farm Heroes, you focus on healthy eating habits by collecting organic, natural fruits and vegetables like carrots, onions, apples, and strawberries. And don’t forget about water, to replenish your body and your plants, and sun, for your vital vitamin D. That’s way better than candy, right?
And you can bring your farm-fanaticism to the real world. Get some themed Farm Heroes toys or try to health-ify your life with some great fruit and veggie recipes.
As for farm-themed manicures and massages, well… you may have a harder time finding those!
